Star
A star is a free tree with \(1\) internal vertex. It gets its name from its appearance. The symbol \(S_n\) denotes the graph of an \(n\)-pointed star.
Equivalently, a star \(S_n\) is the complete bipartite graph \(K_{1, n}.\)
